The purpose of this site is to give you a glimpse of the type of jewelry which I have been making for over 20 years.

I see my jewelry as small-scale wearable sculpture. My most successful work starts with the shadow of an idea, a rough form or desire to explore a technique. I prefer to pick a way of working and see where it leads than dictating the look of the final piece. This evolution generates designs, which show the path of my choices, while remaining open to interpretation.

I received my BA in art from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1985. I worked as a bench jeweler in a custom design shop from 1985-2000. Since then I have been a partner in the Magpie Jewelry and Metals Studio llc
